Speaking Up with Respect Workshop Grades 5–6 | 4-Week (Tuesdays, March 24 to April 14, 6:30pm - 8:30pm) 1139C Mill St., Manotick, ON K4M 1A0 Core Route #3: Friendships & Social Smarts Grades 5–6 | 4-Week Series (Tuesdays, May 19 to June 9, 2026. 6:30pm - 8:30pm) 1139C Mill St., Manotick, ON K4M 1A0 A small-group, skills-based workshop designed to strengthen real-life friendship and peer interaction skills in practical, everyday ways. Each session has a clear learning focus and builds week-to-week. Friendships aren’t always simple. They require awareness, flexibility, and social confidence. Over 4 weeks, children will learn: ✔ How to read social cues and body language ✔ How to navigate inclusion and exclusion situations ✔ How to set healthy friendship boundaries ✔ How to handle awkward moments with confidence ✔ How to respond calmly to peer conflict Great for kids who: ✔ Find friendships confusing or unpredictable ✔ Feel stressed by social drama ✔ Struggle with peer conflict ✔ Want to feel more confident making friends — especially before junior high What’s Included: 4 structured weekly workshops Parent insight sheet with simple strategies to support learning at home Structured activities and guided creative projects A Certificate of Participation at the end of the series to celebrate their growth Parent Info: Parents do not stay during the workshop. Learning runs until 8:15 PM, followed by a 15-minute supervised connection time where kids can casually chat and strengthen friendship skills before pick-up.
