Core Route #4: Calm Skills & Coping Tools Grades 5–6 | 4-Week Series (Tuesdays, June 16 to July 7, 2026. 6:30pm - 8:30pm) 1139C Mill St., Manotick, ON K4M 1A0 A small-group, skills-based workshop designed to help children strengthen emotional regulation and stress management in practical, real-world ways. Each session has a clear learning focus and builds week-to-week. Calm isn’t about never feeling big emotions. It’s about knowing what to do when they show up. Over 4 weeks, children will learn: ✔ Why big reactions happen in the brain and body ✔ How to recognize early body signals of stress ✔ How to pause before reacting ✔ Practical calming strategies they can use independently ✔ How to recover after emotional moments Great for kids who: ✔ Experience big emotions ✔ Feel overwhelmed easily ✔ Shut down under stress ✔ Struggle to calm themselves in the moment What’s Included: 4 Structured weekly workshops Parent insight sheet with simple strategies to support learning at home Structured activities and guided creative projects A Certificate of Participation at the end of the series to celebrate their growth Parent Info: Parents do not stay during the workshop. Learning runs until 8:15 PM, followed by a 15-minute supervised connection time where kids can casually chat and strengthen friendship skills before pick-up.
