Your Teen is Vaping, Now What? Workshop

Online Parent Workshop

20 Canadian dollars
Online via Zoom

About:

Jen LeClair Avery is a certified family/addictions counsellor, and author of the teen help book "Not Today! Frank." (available on Amazon.ca) This workshop is the perfect opportunity to have access to a professional in a group session where you can learn about vaping and ask questions in a focused space. Jen will cover: Why teens use Nicotine Vapes, Drab Pens and Pouches When Prescription Meds and Substances Mix When Should You Be Concerned? - How to talk about it and get past "It's No Big Deal" - What if they can't stop and what comes next You found the vape. They say it’s not theirs. Now what? Do you confront them? What if they deny it—or admit they’ve been using? How can you tell whether they’re experimenting or becoming dependent? What if they’re taking prescribed medication for ADHD, anxiety or depression while also using nicotine or cannabis? This practical parent workshop goes beyond simply telling you that vaping is risky. We’ll talk about what teens are using, why they’re reaching for it, what you may actually notice at home, and how to respond without turning every conversation into an argument. We’ll also talk about what to do when the vaping continues, how to revisit the conversation, and what it can mean when your teen tells you they want to stop but can’t. You’ll leave with practical information, language you can actually use with your teen, and a clearer understanding of when to step in, when to keep the conversation open, and when additional support may be needed. Tuesday, October 20 | 7:00–8:00 PM Q&A | 8:00–8:30 PM Virtual • Interactive • Parent-focused The first hour will be informative and interactive, followed by an optional 30-minute Q&A where you can ask questions and join the conversation. Cameras on are welcome but not mandatory. I’d love for this to feel more like a conversation with parents than a webinar you simply watch. General Registration: $20 Healthy Routes Community (existing clients): No Charge Community members will receive their registration code directly. Limited spaces available so register soon.
